About Me

I am based in Southwest Wisconsin and consider it a unique privilege that I have the opportunity to meet and get to know great student/athletes while telling the story of their experience with sports.

The journey began with a "unique" hobby of mine - memory hoarding. I would frequently wish that I had a photo of a certain time that I was trying to remember. When my oldest child began cheerleading as a freshman and then joined the cross country team as a sophomore, I found myself taking FAR too many pictures of everyone on her team. Then I began sharing them with parents, delighting in their joy of seeing their child from a perspective that they weren't able to witness.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I have progressed from the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra to a professional-level mirrorless camera, learning/mastering manual mode, expanding my focus and building an in-home studio for senior portraits, and loving every minute of witnessing and capturing the moments that students and their families will remember for the rest of their lives.

In addition I have progressed from no photography knowledge to candidate for the Professional Photographers of America’s Certified Professional Photographer certification and pursuing a PPA Master of Photography degree. During my first time attending Imaging USA, the PPA’s annual conference, in late January 2024, I had a portrait selected into the final rounds of the International Photographic Conference. That photo then earned a bronze medal.

As my tagline states, it is my goal to create high-quality images that tell stories about the athletes and their experiences, both highs and lows, with one of the most enjoyable aspects of our American culture - high school sports - and to create senior portraits that capture the subject's soul.
